Wansalan .E.Dhar is a young, dynamic youth of the Jowai Town, who resides in the locality known as Loompyrdi Iongpiah, Jowai. His love for culture and its ethnic beauty has inspired in him to preserve and protect the unique dialect of the Jaintia People inspite of today's much westernization. He actively participates in the field of youth development & theatre works that involve the display of the culture and tradition of the Jaintia people. His songs of various moods are aired by the All India Radio Station, Jowai and DDK, Shillong. He actively participates in the National Day-Celebrations of the District & has represented Meghalaya during the Republic Day celebration in Delhi in the year 2005 ( where he performed as the main singer in the famous traditional dance of the Jaintias, the Chad Kyndei in which the reflections of the life of the famous Freedom Fighter of the Jaintia Hills, U Kiang Nangbah was portrayed). He completed his Schooling in Acting from the National School of Drama New Delhi (NEZCC). He also actively continues to participate in the Discover Jaintia Festive Annual Events organized by the District Administration. He has acted in Local Pnar movies & also writes Articles for the Local Newspapers. A song-writer & composer and play writer too.... he also participates in the ‘CHAD LAHOOH’ the well known traditional and devotional song. A multifaceted youth indeed..... |

Further on Wansalan E.Dhar recently released his Book of Poetries entitled ‘UMCHANGPED’ meaning "The Spring through this book. The significance of this book is that he is able to bring out the beauty and richness of the Pnar Culture and tradition. The book's green cover signifies his love for a clean and green environment. This book is entirely written in the Pnar language.
